The building has substantial data and audiovisual networks as well as secure access control, and emergency notification system, sound masking in the open office spaces, a fire alarm system integrated with the site-wide alarm system, and rescue assistance stations in the stairwells. The building is backed up with an 450kw Diesel Generator and UPS power to support mission critical systems. The surrounding site includes new parking areas as well as lighted sidewalks, outdoor dining areas.

This 160,000 square foot Nuclear Operations Building with two floors above grade wrapped in a full height glass curtain wall and a half basement below, abiding by NRC regulations. Since 1977, only two nuclear power plant expansions have been approved in the US and this project was one of them. Our team performed complete electrical procurement and installation for the most state of the art Nuclear Operations Building ever completed.Construction began on this building in June 2010 and finished September 2012.The building provides space for diverse services, including senior management, administration, engineering, security, secure document storage, telepresence meeting rooms, exercise and fitness, food preparation and dining, technical support and command, docks, receiving area, mail room and a tornado shelter.The building also has a positive pressure backup command center and support facilities designed for extended and remote operation of the units in the event of an emergency.
