Provide the complete electrical and fire alarm package. Facility included a Teaching Auditorium, Physical Therapy Labs, general classrooms, administrative offices and conference rooms.
It can be challenging to add two floors to an occupied four story education building in downtown Birmingham, with minimal lay down area for storage.
Although this was difficult, we were able to overcome these challenges by all power shutdowns were completed before 6AM or after 6PM. The general contractor provided a tower crane with operator as well as a bulk hoist to get materials to the construction area. All shipments were scheduled to arrive in one week increments. This included rough-in materials, power conductors, communication cables and lighting.
