Eldeco showcases design-build at Pratt & Whitney plant in Asheville.

Our work on the Pratt & Whitney site in Asheville, NC started with our engineering team, who designed the electrical systems for the site, ran power studies including arc flash, and used 3d modeling and coordination to identify clashes and keep the project on track.

Precise coordinates in the electrical design allowed us to use the Trimble Robotic Total Station (RTS) to locate all underground conduit duct banks and site electrical for multi-discipline coordination.

Our electrical installation included:

• two 25KV main PDC switchgear lineups
• fourteen 25KV MV distribution lineups
• nineteen double-ended unit substattions
• four 125V DC battery systems
• thirty-eight power factor capacitor banks, and
• redundant loop feeds for the low and medium voltage distribution.

This 2 million square foot processing facility produces turbine fanblades for Pratt & Whitney jet engines.
