Careers in Construction Month
By 2019, South Carolina will need approximately 129,438 craft professionals. But where will these workers come from?
With a critical shortage of skilled labor across the industry, it’s a question many are asking. And this month, the construction industry is coming together to help create some answers.
This October, Eldeco is joining organizations across the country to recognize Careers in Construction Month, a celebration and recognition of career opportunities in construction sponsored by NCCER. This year, Careers in Construction Month has been officially recognized by the state of South Carolina, along with 18 other states.
As part of Careers in Construction Month, participating organizations, schools and contractors will host special events to introduce students to the incredible opportunities the construction industry offers. To make things easier, NCCER has created a variety of special resources, including a connection map that identifies all participants nationwide, detailed guides to help organizations host great events and fun videos that highlight everything that’s going on throughout the month.

This month, construction organizations throughout South Carolina have an incredible opportunity to highlight the rewarding career opportunities that exist in our industry and inspire the next generation of craft professionals.
