Eldeco Earns Platinum and Gold STEP Awards
This prestigious award recognizes companies who exhibit a continued commitment to jobsite safety and whose safety performance and programs are judged to be exemplary. This year, Eldeco took home two awards: a gold award for the Charlotte office and a platinum award for Greenville.
The requirements for these awards aren’t easy to meet: for the gold award, applicants must have a TRIR at or below the national average and submit a rigorous application that includes a safety program review and performance evaluation. For the platinum award, applicants are held to even higher standards, including a TRIR that is 50% below the national average and an EMR of .80 or lower.
The Safety Training and Evaluation Process (STEP) program was first developed by ABC’s National Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S) Committee in 1989. Written by and for contractors, the program is designed to help companies develop effective safety and loss prevention programs.
STEP award winners exemplify what we all strive for: to send every employee home in the same – or better – condition in which they arrived.
