Eldeco Earns Fall Protection Recognition
Last month Eldeco took part in the 2016 National Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls, a nationwide event where employers talk directly to employees about fall hazards and reinforces the importance of fall protection.
Falls are the leading cause of death in construction. More than 3,500 workers have died from falls over the past decade. And yet, we know that every fall can be prevented.
Eldeco has participated in the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s annual Stand-Down initiative since it launched in 2014. OSHA’s fall prevention campaign is held in partnership with the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, NIOSH’s national Occupational Research Agenda and The Center for Construction Research and Training.
Once tallied, the numbers for this year are expected to surpass the 2.5 million workers who took part in the Stand-Down in 2015.
The National Safety Stand-Down is part of Eldeco’s Live Save Work Safe initiative. We believe in teaching our crews how to inspect their equipment and what can happen when fall protection is not used correctly.
