Platinum STEP ‘Hat Trick’ for Eldeco
Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) today announced Eldeco Inc. has earned the Platinum STEP Award for its safety and loss prevention program. This is the third year in a row Eldeco has received this honor.
“We’re proud and honored to receive this award for the third time,” Executive Director of Safety Corey Arledge said. “Eldeco lives up to our motto, ‘Live Safe, Work Safe,’ and this award represents the everyday contributions made by dedicated individuals throughout our organization.”
The award was presented during Safety Week 2016, a celebration of safety led by the Construction Industry Safety Initiative, May 2-6.
ABC’s STEP (Safety, Training Evaluation Process) program includes rigorous documentation and benchmarks. To achieve STEP Platinum, Eldeco had a total recordable incident rate (TRIR) of less than 25% of the national average and an experience modification rate (EMR) score of .80 or lower.
Less than 600 contractors nationwide have earned the Platinum STEP Award.
Safety is a core value for ABC and its members. The term “incident” is measured not just in injury, but the number of lives disrupted both among employees and their families.
