Eldeco Wins Platinum Safety Award!
How Eldeco won Platinum
The requirements to be awarded this prestigious award were not easy, but were attained due to Eldeco’ s high standards of safety. Our TRIR had to be less than 25% of the National average, an EMR score of .80 or lower, as well as interviews and review of our safety program. Our exemplary performance has put us in the rankings of less than 600 contractors’ nationwide as a leader in safety. We now are eligible for the National Excellence Safety Award given by ABC.
The Award
The ABC National Safety Excellence Awards recognize companies who exhibit a continued commitment to jobsite safety and whose safety performance and programs are judged to be exemplary by the ABC National Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) Committee. Awards are based on data submitted via STEP applications, essay questions and video interviews with company Presidents/CEOs/Principals about their corporate safety culture. Award categories are based on a company’s total work-hours per calendar year and placement within the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS).
History
Established in 1989 by the ABC National Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) Committee, the Safety Training and Evaluation Process (STEP) program was developed and written by contractors, for contractors.
Safety is a core value for ABC and its member companies—a culture where no incident is acceptable and where each employee views the safety of others as just as important as their own permeates every part of the organization from the CEO to the men and women in the field. The National Safety Excellence Award program recognizes these companies and provides them as models to the rest of ABC and the construction industry for what we strive for: to send every employee home in the same—or better—condition than which they arrived.
