Safety
is the single most important aspect of any construction
project. ElDeCo
has proven its commitment to safety throughout the years
by maintaining a low Experience Modification Rate (EMR).A
look back over our history shows an increase in employee
hours worked with a decrease in our EMR. At ElDeCo,
we maintain a safe work environment with continuous
safety training for all superintendents and foremen,
weekly gang-box meetings and safety training during
orientation for newly hired craftsmen.

At
ElDeCo, Safety isn't
a program or manual that tells people what not to do,
it's an ongoing process of teaching our employees how
and why to work safely.

We
have achieved success by:
-
Identifying critical activities on each project and
developing training that will insure a safe work environment
-
Measuring performance against expectations
-
Correcting behavior that does not meet our safety
requirements
-
Teaching employees what is expected and why
-
Motivating correct performance with a rewards program
-
Observing and giving feedback during job site inspections
-
Striving for continuous improvement by developing
new safety habits
-
Providing reports to senior management to identify
opportunities that support and reinforce a positive
approach to safety
